AI Village is back for DEF CON 32, and looking for talks, presentations, art, music, and more!
Machine learning and AI technologies are becoming increasingly pervasive and creeping into more and more objects: fitness trackers to vehicles, low-power vision systems to autonomous delivery robots, smart thermostats to health monitors and medical devices. Meanwhile, security technologies to protect AI systems have struggled to keep up. After last year’s LLM bonanza, we are now focusing on the broader landscape of AI. Show us how you have attacked or defended AI models everywhere and anywhere, from your phone to a friendly neighborhood drone, the smaller and more tangible the better.
The AI Village is soliciting short (20 minute) and long (45 minute) presentations , as well as workshops, tutorials, and demonstrations, on the uses and abuses of AI in the following areas:
- Attacks on and defenses for embedded and edge AI-powered systems
- Using ML for attack and defense
- AI supply chain attacks
- Physical security, privacy, and surveillance
- Social impacts of pervasive AI
- AI and the environment
As always, we’re also interested in art, ethics, and privacy topics as well.
Remember: DEF CON is a security conference! We are biased towards talks and presentations that address risk in some fashion, be it using AI to address risks, dangers involved in using AI in a particular context or fashion, or avenues in which AI models themselves can be placed at risk; however we are not narrowly focused on the topic of information security and welcome talks on societal risks, privacy, trustworthiness, and fairness as well.
Please be as detailed as possible in your submissions. Remember, DEF CON is a hacker conference, not an academic one! Catering your talk to DEF CON attendees will greatly affect your chances for acceptance.
The deadline for submissions is May 17, 2024. We plan to respond to all submissions by email by June 7, 2024.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at cfp@aivillage.org.
